New Orleans, LA
My first time at this Festival. I've wanted to go for years, but the proximity to Jazzfest (just 1 or 2 weeks before) had always been an issue. I finally made it, and very glad I did. The food wasn't as good as at Jazzfest. But it's a more relaxing vibe. It's held around the Quarter, which is convenient, and the main stages are all on the levee along the river, with a nice cool breeze blowing. The music is all local - no out of town headliners like at Jazzfest. And the Fest is free. I'm not about to give up my beloved Jazzfest anytime soon, but FQF is a new favorite, for sure. This was also my first chance to try out my new camera. Pix from here are are taken with a Nikon Coolpix S-10. |
